Yellow Ochre (PY43) is one of the earliest pigments known to man. Ochres are mineral oxides used in colors from the reddish brown to, in this case, yellow-brown range. This very lightfast color is often considered essential to a painters' palette. Available in Heavy Body, Fluid (shown here), High Flow and OPEN.

What is pigment PY42?
Yellow Oxide (PY42) / Transparent Yellow Iron Oxide (PY42) While their pigments have the same Color Index Name (PY42), even at the outset Yellow Oxide and Transparent Yellow Iron Oxide are clearly not identical colors.

What is the difference between PY43 and PY42?
How do you tell the difference between the two yellow iron oxide pigments? You can check their chemical name – the natural variant is PY43, the synthetic is PY42. It's not easy to visually spot the differences. The particles of PY42 are generally more uniform in size, giving a more vibrant, 'cleaner' color than PY43.
